New pricing structure for Perfect Diet Tracker

Following feedback from our users a new pricing structure will be announced for the Perfect Diet Tracker later next week.

Why are you changing the pricing structure?

The feedback we received tends to split users right down the middle. We have many users who like the current lifetime key option, knowing there are no repeat subscription fees or charges. The lifetime key offers great value for money, especially if you intend to use the software for a longer period.

On the other side we have users who want to lose just a few pounds before a vacation and find the single one off cost too high, but still do not want a subscription pricing model.

What are the new pricing options?

The single, one off 'lifetime' purchase will remain available.

Three new licenses will be added, a one month, three month and six month license. Each license will be valid for the appropriate period of time.

The new options will be available as a 'personal' single user license or 'family' five user license.

How much will the new licenses cost?

The new prices will be announced later next week, however the lifetime key price will increase to allow for inflation and support costs. The monthly license options will offer a new lower price entry point for the software.

The monthly license options will NOT auto renew. When licenses expire the software will simply inform the user so they can choose to buy a new license. Users buying the monthly license options do not need to worry about cancelling subscriptions etc.

How do the price changes affect existing users?

The new prices and license options will not affect existing users at all.

All licenses purchased prior to implementation of the new pricing structure will remain unchanged and current customers will continue to receive free upgrades and access to the online food database.

We believe this to be a great deal as all users who bought version 3 of the software after March 2009 continue to get the new functions continually being added to the software, and will get access to the tracker2go and iPhone services which were not planned when many users originally purchased.

Will I need a new version of the Perfect Diet Tracker?

Unlock codes issued for the new licenses will require version 3.4 or later of the Perfect Diet Tracker.

All existing 'lifetime' users will not need to upgrade to the 3.4 version, however we do recommend all users upgrade to the latest version of the software to ensure they have access to all the latest features and functionality.

What about the iPhone and iPad?

Initially the iPhone and iPad application will be available to registered users. Access for trial users is planned for a later date.

The tracker2go.com online sync service is currently on its second round of beta tests which are going well. All registered users with a current license will be able to use the online sync service when it is launched to keep multiple desktop copies of the Perfect Diet Tracker in sync.

The iPhone and iPad versions of the software (also currently in beta) also use a 'live sync' with the tracker2go system allowing users to update their diary on the move, and keep this in sync with multiple computers.

The mobile versions of the software are due for launch later in the year.

When will version 3.4 be released?

Version 3.4 of the Perfect Diet Tracker will be released prior to the changes in the pricing structure, due later next week.

Any questions?

We believe these changes will help take the Perfect Diet Tracker forward and are good for all users, new and old. Existing users will continue to receive full support and service with the no expiry option, whilst there will be a new lower price entry point for new users.
